Frank Montarelli passed away on Sept. 11, 2013, in Palm Coast, FL.
Frank was born on May 19, 1923 to Antonio and Rosine Montarelli in Newark, N.J. He was a decent, caring, energetic man devoted to and adored by his family. Throughout his life he enjoyed an extended family of close friends. Frank graduated from Belleville High School, where he played varsity football. After graduation he became a U.S. Marine, volunteering and serving in the World War II
Pacific Theater. He returned to Belleville after his honorable discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps
and began dating his high school sweetheart, Mary Leone. Frank and Mary married on April 27, 1947. Their marriage would last 66 years, until his passing. Frank and Mary raised their two children in Belleville, N.J. Frank began his career at Westinghouse, eventually establishing his own, successful uniform dry cleaning business. He sold the business and entered his well-deserved retirement at age 62. Frank and Mary enjoyed a golden retirement of nearly 30 years, starting in Tuckerton, N.J. They began spending winters in Florida during the 1980s, moving to West Palm Beach permanently in the early 1990s. They relocated to Palm Coast in 2003. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughter and son-in-law Janet and Robert Carbone, of Stockholm, N.J.; son and daughter-in-law Frank and JoAnn Montarelli, Jr., of Littleton, Colo.; a granddaughter and her husband, Danielle and Eric Vargas, who gave Frank and Mary two beautiful great-grandchildren, Eric and Alessandra, all of Oak Ridge, N.J.
