G. William Stevens

G. William Stevens passed away quietly January 14th. Bill was born March 23, 1921 in Buffalo, New York. His youth and all of his working life were spent in Lockport, New York where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Alta Chappuis, in 1943. He entered the Army in 1944 and served in the European Theatre during WWII. His memories included participation in the action to take and hold the Bridge at Remagen in March, 1945. Following the war, Bill returned to Lockport where he worked and raised his family. In 1981, following retirement from General Motors, where he worked as a purchasing agent, Bill and Alta moved to Daytona Beach. He is survived by his wife, Alta; two sons, William and Bruce and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
