Howard W. Bond, 85, of DeLand, FL passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 under home hospice care. He was born in Raymond, IL on April 27, 1927. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a service station owner/mechanic in Dayton, OH and Orlando, FL, relocating to Florida in 1970. Howard attended the First United Methodist Church pastored by Rev. Owen Stricklin, DeLand, and was a member of the Wednesday Music Club. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Miriam Joan (nee Rhodes); two sons, Wayne P. (Linda), Stephen K. (Pam); granddaughter, Danielle (Tom); and great-granddaughter, Zoe, of whom he will be greatly missed. The family is very grateful to the staff of Odyssey Hospice for their tender care and kindness.
