Jack Chivers


Jack Chivers, age 76, of New Smyrna Beach, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Born in New Smyrna, Mr. Chivers, a butcher, was a lifelong area resident. He served in the United States Army, loved fishing, hunting and gardening, especially raising vegetables and growing flowers. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sharon; three children, Jack "Bryan" (Barbara) Chivers of Edgewater, Robert (Brandy) Chivers of Oak Hill, and Michele Chivers of New Smyrna Beach; one brother, Jesse Chivers of Oak Hill; two sisters-in-law, Linda Niederhauser of Kentucky and Edith Chivers of New Smyrna Beach; one brother-in-law, David Roberts of Hamburg, New York; two grandchildren, Cory and Ariel Chivers of Edgewater; one step-grandson, Dylan of Oak Hill; six nieces, Debbie, Connie, Lainie, Alanna, Kathy, and Sissy; and three nephews, Greg, Jeff, and David. Mr. Chivers was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emma Chivers and three brothers, Ronnie, John, and Howard Chivers.
