James A. Cowen

James A. Cowen, 88, Deltona, died Sunday, Sept. 22 at home under Hospice Care. He was born April 12, 1925 in New Kensington, PA. He served in the U.S. Army; participated in the D-Day Normandy Invasion June 6, 1944, receiving the Purple Heart for injuries. He retired from U.S. Post Office; married 66 years to his wife Mary. Jim leaves behind his son Brad and his wife Debbi of Butler, PA; grandchildren: Lisha & Rodd Garrison of Edgewater; and Shayna Collin of New York. He was preceded in death by his son Daniel and daughter Cindy Cole. Memorial Service will be Friday, Sept. 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Pineridge First Church on Normandy Blvd., Deltona where Jim was a member. Memorial donations may be made to the church or Florida Hospital Hospice Care, 770 W. Granada Blvd., Ste. 104, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
