JAMES BENJAMIN PEER

1929-2013. James B. Peer, 83, passed away on February 22nd in Daytona Beach, Florida. Born in Pequannock, NJ to Robert Peer and Anna (Most) Peer, he lived most of his life in West Orange, NJ and later Hackettstown, NJ before retiring to Ormond Beach, FL. He is survived by his daughter, Charlene K. Kegerreis and son-in-law, James E. Kegerreis of Fairfax, VA.; as well as his sister, Ellen Corback (Henry); twin brother Donald Peer (Mary); and his youngest brother, Ralph Parks (Carole). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life - his wife of 58 years, Joan A. (Corrigan) Peer and their son, James Matthew Peer. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Robert Peer (Marion) and Albert Peer (Marie).
Jim attended the West Orange Public Schools and graduated from Bloomfield Technical High School as a Tool Maker and Machinist. He worked as a Tool Maker for Bates Manufacturing Company in West Orange, NJ and then in Hackettstown, NJ until he retired from Bates in 1995. Jim and his wife were long-time members of the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in the Ormond South Congregation. After a celebration of his and his late wife's life at their Congregation, Jim and his wife will be laid to rest along side their son at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, NJ.
