James Earl Baker, 91, of Daytona Beach went to his Heavenly Home Tuesday morning December 4th, 2012. A visitation viewing will be held 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10th at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona Beach to be followed by a Chapel and Graveside service conducted by Pastor Dan Proctor at the same location, 1423 Bellevue Avenue. Earl was born on October 25, 1921 in Lancaster, S.C. He was raised in the Rock Hill South Carolina area. He served in both U.S. Army and Navy with active World War II duty 1940-1945 aboard the USS Springfield light cruiser battleship. Earl and his small family first moved to Volusia County in 1956 where he worked as a painting contractor until his retirement. He was a member of the Sunset Lions Club for 20 years and made many lifetime friends. Always an active church attendee he was a member of the CrossRoads Baptist Church, Daytona Beach, at the time of his passing. Earl had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh at jokes and funny stories when surrounded by friends and his beloved family. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Bernice; brother Paul Baker, Rock Hill, South Carolina; son Dudley Baker and daughter-in-law Kim Baker of Daytona Beach Shores; daughter Denise Guerrieri of Daytona Beach Shores; grandchildren Christopher and Trista Guerrieri of Toronto, Canada; grandchild Tabitha Fahey; son-in-law Brent Fahey; and great-grandchildren Alexis and Bradley Fahey of Petaluma, California.
