Jeanne Marie Connery, 71, of Port Orange, Florida passed away December 26, 2012 at the Halifax Volusia County Hospice after a long battle with ALS. She was born February 16, 1941 in Waterford NY. Jeanne graduated from the Saint Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in 1961 and spent her entire forty year career as a Registered Nurse at St. Mary's Hospital, in Troy, NY. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society and Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Port Orange, Florida. She enjoyed line dancing and calling bingo at her community center and spent her summers in the Adirondack Mountains at Brant Lake. Survived by her husband of 50 years, James (Ned); sons James Jr. of Rochester, NY, John (Pamela) of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; daughters Jeanne (Steve) Starr of Waterford, NY and Janice of Norcross, GA; brothers Jack (Sue) of Waterford, NY, James (Paula) Cohoes, NY, Jerry (Sue) Jacksonville, FL, Jeffrey (Tracy) Ashville, NC; and four grandchildren Jacob, Ethan, McKenna and Colin. She was pre-deceased by her Mother Ethyl Demers and Father John Ahearn. Funeral arrangements will be held by John J. Sandvidge Funeral home in Troy, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS society.
