A gathering to celebrate the life of Jeannie Therese Slattery (Vezina) is set for Saturday, January 5, 2013, 1 to 4pm at the Hilton Garden Inn Palm Coast /Town Center, FL. Jeannie went to be with the other angels on December 27, 2012 at the age of 64. To say her long battle with cancer was courageous would be a gross understatement. Jeannie was born in Plainfield, Connecticut to Romeo and Therese Vezina. She graduated from Plainfield High School, attended Johnson and Wales College, and was an Office Manager in Connecticut for over twelve years. Jeannie had a passion for quilting, thoroughly enjoyed her time with friend Barbara Brooks and the "Quilting Cronies", painting, and boating. She was a kind and giving individual who never complained. Jeannie is survived by her devoted and loving husband Patrick; mother Therese Vezina; sister Denise and her husband Al Lugauskas; three sons Andrew, Ryan, and Michael Wolak; daughters-in-law Jennifer, Kimberly, and Jessica Wolak; grandchildren Devyn, Logan, Sarah, and Cade Wolak; former husband Stanley Wolak; and other friends and relatives. We offer sincere thanks to Dr. Richard Weiss, his staff at Halifax Health Oncology, and the hospice staff at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center. For online condolences, go to "online obits". Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
