Jerry H. Allender, 75, passed away April 11, 2011 at Florida Hospital, Daytona Beach. Mr. Allender was born in Covington, KY and moved to this area in 1969 from his birthplace. He was a member of First Baptist of Daytona Beach, and A.A.R.P. Mr. Allender was a former dispatcher and driver for Yellow Cab in Cincinnati and Kentucky. He enjoyed Baseball, especially the Cincinnati Reds and he loved animals. Mr. Allender also was a Marine veteran. Survivors include, his wife of 42 years, Rosemary; five sons, Steven (Teresa) Allender, Sam (Rita) Allender, Michael Allender, Jerry Lee Jr., and William; two daughters, Jennifer, who also was his primary care giver ,and Toni; and one sister, Mary French. The family kindly asks donations be made in Mr. Allender's memory to Halifax Humane Society, 2364 LPGA Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL 32114.
