Funeral services for Mr. Jessie Lee Roberts, 93, Daytona Bch, who passed Friday, March 1, 2013 will be 3 PM, Sat., March 9, 2013 at RJ Gainous Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Craig Robinson, pastor of New St. James Missionary Baptist Church presiding. Interment will take place in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Damascus, Georgia. Calling hours are from 5-8:30 PM, Fri. (today, March 8) at RJ Gainous Funeral Home and from 1:30 PM until service time at the Funeral Home on Sat. Mr. Roberts was born July 10, 1919 in Damascus, GA to Pat and Regina Roberts. At an early age Mr. Roberts attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He worked the fields beside his father until his early 20's. He married Willie Lea Roberts and relocated to Daytona Bch, FL. He took a job at Bob Dance Dodge, Deland, FL where he worked for over 20 yrs. After which he became self employed and started his own Mechanic shop, where he worked until he was physically unable to continue and then after, went into retirement. He entered into eternal rest of Friday evening, March 1, 2013. He was preceded in death by his son: Patrick Roberts; a grandson: Patrick T. Roberts; his brother: Wallace Roberts; sisters: Eula Hill, Effie Sheffield, Annie Shannon. Mr. Roberts leaves to cherish his memory: daughters: Regina Roberts, Margaret Denson; grandson: Michael Kiel; great-great granddaughter: Haley Davis; great granddaughter: Tyeshia Williams; nieces and nephews: Robert Holmes, Rose Bethune, Julia Holmes-Smith, Josephine Barksdale, Andrew Jenkins, Joseph Jenkins, Walter Hill, Ferdina Nelson, Bonnie Mitchell, Charlie Roberts, and Evanjaline Roberts.
