Konstantin "Gus" Maholias, 81, of Ormond Beach, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013. A Visitation to celebrate Gus' life will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, with Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 129 N Halifax Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32118.
Gus was born July 4th 1931 in Milwaukee, WI as the youngest of four from a proud Greek Heritage. Gus served in the US Air Force stationed in England where he met his wife Betty of 61 years. He moved his family from Milwaukee to Ormond Beach in 1975 As president of KEM Enterprises, together with his wife and family, they prospered in real estate development, construction, and property management. Gus was a devoted family man who enjoyed life to the fullest with his kids and grandchildren. His passions were dancing with family, boating/fishing, and traveling to Greece. He was a current member of the Loyal Order of Moose. The family is a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. Gus is survived by his wife Elizabeth "Betty", five children: son Tom (wife Terry) from Charlotte, daughter Paula Virkler (husband Lynn), daughter Linda and sons Steven and David; four grandchildren: Olivia, Julia Virkler, Amanda and Michael, and sister Persephone Stathas of Franklin, WI.
