A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Lorna D. Maher, 86, of Palm Coast, who passed away peacefully at her home in Palm Coast, Florida on Monday (Nov. 12, 2012), will be Friday, November 16, 2012 at 2:00 P,M, at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Family will be receiving guests on Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the chapel at Clymer Funeral Home. Lorna was born on Dec. 9, 1925, in Scotland then came to the U.S. with her parents Isabel and Andrew Clark into Ellis Island when she was 5 years old. She grew up in Queens, New York, where she met her future husband, Gerald V. Maher. They were married and worked in New York until moving to Marietta in 1963. Here she worked as a receptionist for Dr. Deane and Edgar Northrup until her retirement. In 1984, they moved to Florida. Lorna was involved in many groups and organization, including the board and welcoming committee of her condominium complex. She was an avid swimmer, and loved the ocean. Lorna was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 49 years. She is survived by three children, Jeanette Maher of Denver, Steven Maher of San Diego, and Andrea Kern (Jeff) of Marietta; and three grandchildren, Caitlin, Alex and Willem. The family of Mrs. Maher entrusted the arrangements to Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations.
