Mary Louise Wood Lecours, age 72, of Port Orange, passed away May 10, 2013 at Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/ Flagler, Port Orange, FL, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She is predeceased by her mother, Kathleen Syford, her father Joseph Wood, her stepfather, Vernon Syford, her brothers Julian Wood and Robert Syford (Sandra). Mary was adored by her family and is lovingly remembered and survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, John Lecours, daughter, Terri Lightfoot (Larry), son, Gordon Lecours, grandchildren Brittany Goble (Will), Lance and Kayla Lightfoot, great grandchildren, Alexie, Tara and Jaelyn, brother Roy Syford (Linda), Debbie Price (Pete), Uncle George Prince (Loretta), Aunt Irene Amara (Eddie), Aunt Dot Floyd and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary was born in New Smyrna Beach, FL and graduated from Mainland High School in 1958. She worked for Sears from high school through retirement. She lived in the Daytona area all her life except for the 28 years she and her family lived in Las Vegas, NV, due to her husband's job. They moved back to Port Orange in 2005.Mary's hobby was her family and nothing meant more to her than having them near. At this time, no formal service is planned, however, we know Mary, Mom, Grandma, Sissy, Mary Louise, Aunt Mary will be remembered and remain in the hearts of all who loved her.
