Melvin C. Fish, Ormond Beach & Lodi, NY, age 94, passed away on June 14, 2013 at Coquina Center Nursing Home in Florida. Born in 1919 in Corning, NY. Melvin was preceded in death by is parents, William and Hannah, brothers, Leonard and Clarence, and his wife, Selma. He is survived by his son, Gary M. (Kathleen) Fish; and daughter, Diane E. (Douglas) Haskins. They blessed Melvin with seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Melvin's tenure as a glass making specialist for Corning, Inc. was, indeed lengthy. His active and retired service for the corporation was just shy of 75 years. Melvin was an avid fisherman and hunter, as well as, a passionate poker player. He was active in the Lodi Volunteer Fire Department. He served a term as their president and also was honored as Fireman of the Year! Melvin was a member of both the South Seneca Sportsmen's Club and the Lodi Rod and Gun Club. Melvin's burial was held privately in New York State, followed by a memorial luncheon at the Lodi Fire Department. A memorial luncheon for his friends will be held in Ormond Beach at a future date and location to be announced.
