Nicholas A. Sergi, Jr., 75, of Ormond Beach, passed away on July 7, 2013. He was born on February 11, 1938 in New York to the late Helen and Nicholas Sergi. He was a 1956 graduate of Chaminade High School in Minneola, New York and graduated from Holy Cross College in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1960 where he earned a B.S. in History. After college, Nick joined The United States Marine Corps
where he attained the rank of Captain while serving as a helicopter pilot. He belonged to the Elks and Nights of Columbus, on Long Island, and The Lions Club in New Hampshire. He was employed by FlightSafety International for over 20 years, being known as an advocate for the aviation maintenance profession. While at FlightSafety, Nick served on many aviation related committees and boards including serving as the industry rep for the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) from 1987-1998. Upon retirement in 2007, he went on to form NAS Aviation Consultants where he continued his passion for aviation maintenance by blogging and writing Editorials for Aviation Maintenance Training Magazine. He was an avid golfer and member of Club du Bonmont Country Club at Plantation Bay where he lived during his retirement. He also loved traveling and meeting and talking with the locals in the cafes of France. Survivors include his loving partner of 13 years, Suzanne Albert; his three children, Christian, Peter and Nicholas; his pre-deceased infant daughter, Nicole; and grandchildren Penelope, Peter, and Charlie. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 15th at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ormond Beach, Florida.
