Odeline Callahan Bratcher, Holly Hill, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 5th. Born in Eva, Alabama, she moved to the area 50 years ago from Anniston, AL. In her lifetime she had worked as a telephone operator, waitress, and hair stylist but she spent most of her lifetime as a homemaker. Whatever neighborhood she lived in, she was mostly known simply as "Granny" and had a reputation for helping the down-trodden. Although some took advantage of her, she would always say "you can't let the actions of the bad ones keep you from doing what is right". She had recently celebrated her 86th birthday. Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Keesling (Jay), New Smyrna Beach and Linda Lindley (Larry), Maple Ridge, B.C., Canada; one son, James Marvin Bratcher (Muriel), Columbia-ville, MI.; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grand-children; one brother, Buddy Callahan, Anniston, AL; two brothers-in-law, Charles E. Bratcher, Cape Coral; and Lonney Bratcher, Mims; numerous nieces and nephews and many dearly loved friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Grady Bratcher and two sons, Thomas Edison Diggs and Ronny Dean Bratcher. There will be a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 29, Daytona Christian Church, 1135 6th St., Daytona Beach. All are invited.
