Ralph Edward Williams, 87, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2014. A service of remembrance will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 2:00 P.M at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange, 1201 Dunlawton Ave, Port Orange, FL 32127. A reception at the funeral home will follow the service. Ralph was born on June 20, 1926 in Niles, Ohio. He graduated from Purdue University and was a veteran of World War II, where he served proudly in the United States Army in the Pacific theater. He was retired from the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT where he was the Director of Engineering. During his life he was an avid skier and sailor. Ralph was a loving father and love to spend time with his family while on countless ski trips and vacations in the Outer Banks. Ralph retired to Port Orange Florida in 1997, married Jean Williams where together they enjoyed every minute of life. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents Howard Williams and Nina Steinhelper Williams; brother, Howard David Williams; his first wife Patricia Nelson Williams; and step-grandson, Sgt John P. Kallen. Ralph is survived by his wife Jean Williams of Port Orange; daughters, Barbara Williams Wiederecht of Westport, CT and Judith Williams Reddy of South Salem, NY; grandchildren, Christopher and Caitlin Wiederecht and Natalie and Lauren Reddy. He is the step-father of Day Temple Kaldy of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jeanne Temple of Port Orange, FL and Patricia Temple of Holly Hill, FL; step-grandfather to Kristen Mboijana of Bethesda, MD, Joshua Kaldy of NY, Bailey Kallen of Port Orange, FL, Jillyian Hebert of Honolulu, HI, and Samantha Welch of Anchorage, AK. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ralph's name to the Port Orange Family YMCA, 4701 City Center Parkway, Port Orange FL 32129.
