Salvatore Louis Sorce

A mass of Christian burial for Salvatore Louis Sorce who passed away Thursday, will be celebrated Tuesday at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 100 University Blvd., Daytona Beach with Father Phil Egitto as celebrant. Friends wishing to call and pay their respects may do so Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Dale Woodward Funeral Home, 167 Ridgewood Ave., Holly Hill. Mr. Sorce was born in Bayonne, New Jersey. He served in the United States Navy and received an honorable discharge on July 23, 1946. In 1946 he started Sorce Construction and Modernization Company. He was a past member of the American Legion Post 174 Wayne, New Jersey, where he served as commander for 4 terms and the Wayne Elks Lodge #2181 where he was very active in raising money for crippled children. He was Elk of the Year in 1981 and also served as the bar chairman for both the Legion and Elks. He was a member of Lady of Lourdes, in Daytona Beach. He was predeceased by his first wife, Nancy Guzzardo. Survivors include his wife Natalie Landry Sicuranza Sorce, son- Salvatore Sorce Jr. (Amelia), daughters, Linda Talkington (Doyle), Denise Lijo (Ramon); seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The family has requested no flowers.
