Stanley P. Babic

Stanley P. Babic, 90, of Ormond Beach, a beloved husband and father left this world for his heavenly home on Saturday, August 24, 2013. Stanley was born October 27, 1922 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to Peter and Apolonia Waz Babic. Mr. Babic came to this area from Columbus, Ohio in 1962. He was the former owner and operator of Ocean View Market on South Atlantic Avenue until retirement. Mr. Babic had a BA in Commerce in Finance and attended Ohio State University. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific for 21 months during which time, he was on the USS Intrepid and USS Cape Esperance. He was discharged as an Aviation Radio Man Second Class. He was a Mason since 1964, Lodge 81 and received his Scottish Right Degree in Orlando, Florida. He was a member of Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church and an avid tennis player at the Ormond Beach Racquet Club. He is survived by his son, Michael S. Babic, Chattanooga, TN, and his daughter Susan Lisicki, Ormond Beach, FL, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty Jo. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, August 27th between the hours of 1:00-2:00 pm with a celebration of life service at 2:00 pm. at Lohman's Funeral Home, 733 West Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach, Florida.
