Timothy C. McKeon, of Flagler Beach, passed away March 2, 2013, at the age of 83. Tim was
born and raised in New York City, a graduate of Cardinal Hayes HS and Fordham University. He proudly served his country as a Reconnais-sance Sergeant with the Combat Engineers. Tim was stationed in Austria, which gave him the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Europe. On his return to the States, he started his 38-year Bell System career. Tim's assignments included computer programming for large-scale mainframe systems. He retired from AT&T Corporate Headquaters as a District Manager. Tim was actively involved as a PAL youth instructor in Berkely Heights, NJ and was inducted into the township's "Hall of Fame". He and his wife retired to Flagler Beach, FL where he again took an active role in youth programs, as a member of the YMCA Board of Directors and volunteer basketball coach. Tim's hobbies included writting computer software and long-distance running. He took pride in the nom' de plume (Nitro) given to him by the young professional cohorts at the Ormond Beach YMCA. Tim appreciated their acceptance of one so senior in their basketball games. In later years, the "Cardiac Kid" became an enthusiastic Internet Fantasy Sports follower. Tim enjoyed hours of entertainment competing in a league against his skilled, sports savvy friends from Colorado. Most important, he was a devoted and caring husband and father and an inspiration to all who had the privilege to know him. Tim will be dearly missed by all and the impact he had on so many people's lives will never be forgotten. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Greta; daughters Kathleen of San Francisco and Greta of Flagler Beach; sons Timothy of Boulder and Michael of San Diego; granddaughter Kelsey of San Francisco; brothers Andrew of Campbell Hall, NY and James of Queens, NY. Brothers, John and Richard, predeceased him.
