William G. Blasingame, Jr., 89, passed away on January 25th after an extended illness. Bill was born in Cape Charles, Virginia and moved to Florida in 1959. He served as a Pharmacist's Mate in the Navy during World War II. A graduate of the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), Bill was a pharmacist for 55 years. After moving to Port Orange, he worked for and retired from Halifax Medical Center in 2004. Bill was Past Master of Masonic Lodge No. 270 and a Founding Member of St. Luke's Anglican Church, serving on the Vestry as Senior Warden. He was also a longtime HAM radio operator and a member of the American Radio Relay League. An avid NASCAR fan, Bill favored Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Frances; son, Bill Blasingame III; daughters, Martha Enright and Muriel Jedlicka; adopted son, Greg Blasingame; stepson, David Hollis; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be held at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 815 Taylor Road, Port Orange on Saturday, February 9th at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow.
