Funeral Services for Mr. Allen Dexter Johnson, 49, who passed on March 4, 2017, will be 11 AM, Saturday, March 11, 2017 at New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Michael Mitchell, Pastor, St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Monday, March 13, 2017. Calling hours will be from 5-7 PM, today (Fri, Mar 10) at Mt. Mission Missionary Baptist Church and from 9:30 AM until service time at the church on Saturday. Mr. Johnson was born on December 4, 1967 to Benjamin Sr. and Lottie Johnson in Daytona Bch. He was a 1985 graduate of Mainland High School and was the first black male to be elected Mr. Mainland. He attended Bethune-Cookman College and later joined the Navy and he graduated from International Seminary, Plymouth, FL. He joined Mt. Mission MBC at an early age and in 2005 joined St. Paul MBC where he sang, helped with the choir and served as a Minister. He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Malinda Tucker; maternal grandparents: Lloyd and Anna V. Tucker; paternal grandparents: Willie and Fannie Johnson; uncles: Jimmie, Richard, Lucius and John Tucker; and an aunt: Malissa Byrd. He is survived by his parents: Benjamin, Sr. and Lottie Johnson; brothers: Benjamin Johnson, Jr. (Wanda), Lafayette Johnson; uncles: Willie Tucker (Hattie), Ernest Tucker (Donna); aunts: Elizabeth T. Williams, Alice McCarty (James), Jeanette M. Merritt; a nephew: Bryan Johnson (Naima); a niece: Jackie Johnson; great nephews: Jayden Johnson, Christian Womack; cousins and a host of friends.
