Funeral Sevices for Mr. Alex "Booger" Jones, 81, of Daytona Beach, who passed away November 10, 2013,
will be 11:00 am Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Greater New Zion Primitive Baptist Church, with Rev. Robert Fuller, pastor, and Deacon Jerry Bell officiating. Interment will follow in Daytona Memorial Park South. Calling hours are from 5-8 p, today (Tuesday, Nov. 12) at R.J. Gainous Funeral Home and from 11:30 am until service time at the church on Wednesday. Mr. Jones was born September 28, 1932, in Waycross, GA. He moved to Daytona Beach, in 1935 from his birthplace. He attended the former Campbell Street High School. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He received the Korean Service Medal W/2, Bronze Service Star, United Nations Service Medal and Occupational Medal (Japan). He was the owner/operator of an Auto Body Shop for many years. He retired from Sherwood Medical Facilities Department as a Painter in 1998. He lit up the world with his smile and laughter and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his best friend and devoted wife, Dottie of 36 years; his children, Alex, Jr., Vickie, Kenneth (Wanda), Benjamin (Rene), Michael (Dana) and Heather (Shawne); brothers, Willie Jones (Betty) and Benjamin Jones (Mary Frances); grandchildren, Larisha, Charles, Kenetra, Leontyne, Angel, Shirell, Ali, Kenneth, Jatashio, Vanna, Christine, Brandon, Tairiq, Jailin, and Kaidin; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
