Funeral Services for Mr. Alfred Sylvester Jackson, 69, Orlando, FL, who passed on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, will be 3 PM, Saturday, April 14, 2018 at RJ Gainous Funeral Home. Calling hours will be from 1 PM until service time at the funeral home on Saturday. Mr. Jackson was born on June 25, 1948, in Daytona Beach, FL, to Willie Jackson and Ollie Brown. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he obtained the rank of Sergeant and served as a Communications Specialist. He served in Vietnam in some of the worst combat conditions and survived. He left the military and returned to Daytona for the remainder of his days. He is survived by his daughter: April Cheatham of Simpsonville, SC; his granddaughters: Jazmine Allen-Cheatham and Zayla Pataluch-Cheatham; and his great granddaughter Faith Cheatham; sisters: Willie Mae Flagg and Almarie Brown; brothers: Millard Sykes, Leroy Tyler and Sherman Perkins; and a host of nieces and nephews.
