Anna K. Danko, 88, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away Friday March 8th, 2013 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital. She is survived by her two children Dr. Carol Ann Myers of Hilton Head Island, SC. and John Danko, Jr. of Columbia, SC, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio she and her husband, John Danko, were residents of Ormond Beach, Florida for 27 years before moving to Hilton Head Island in 2006. Ann resided in Columbia at the The Haven at the Summit since 2010. The business manager for the family business, Danko Home Improvement, Ann enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. In her early 60's she became an avid tennis player and was an usher for many years at St. Brendan's Catholic Church in Ormond Beach, Fla. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was always full of energy and compassion. Ann has left her mark on so many and will be greatly missed! In lieu of flowers, donations on her behalf can be made to PEP, PROGRAM FOR EXCEPTIONAL PEOPLE, 10 Oak Park Dr., Box 2, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926. PEP is a non-profit organization with programs for adults with developmental disabilities. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Brendan Catholic Church with Father Tom Barrett as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Haigh-Black Funeral Home, 167 Vining Court, Ormond Beach.
