Bob Hill, age 58, of New Smyrna Beach, died suddenly Wednesday, September 4. The son of Robert P. and Avalo D. Hill, Bob grew up in New Smyrna Beach. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, and his MBA from the University of Phoenix. He ran Hill Bros Tire Co for 14 years and painted the company in "Gator colors." Bob was a writer, athlete, friend, realtor, cousin, teacher, brother and was much beloved by many people! He taught little cousin Alli how surf this summer and enjoyed spending time with Evan, Kelsey, Sydney and Brady when they vacationed in New Smyrna Beach. Active in the community, Bob worked with Habitat for Humanity and volunteered in the prison ministry in Daytona. He was an accomplished handball and tennis player, and golfer and was truly ambidextrous! He authored The Left Hand in the Golf Swing. A man of many talents, he had even learned to make a homemade caramel cake from scratch! Bob is survived by a sister Rosemary, of Charlotte, North Carolina, many close cousins and by his most beloved companion, dog Lily. A celebration of Bob's life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 7 at the Settle-Wilder New Smyrna Beach Chapel, with the Reverend Robert C. Brown, Coronado Community United Methodist Church, officiating.
