Funeral Services for Mrs. Carrie Mae Thompson, 97, Daytona Bch, who passed on July 3, 2018, will be 11 AM, Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Lenorris Dixon, Pastor, delivering the main eulogy. Interment will follow in Daytona Memorial Park. Calling hours will be from 5-8 PM, today (Fri, July 13) at RJ Gainous Funeral Home and from 9:30 AM until service time at the church on Saturday. Mrs. Thompson was born December 10, 1920, in Glenwood, GA to the late Agnes and Charlie Pace. She was preceded in death by a son, Carl Thompson; a brother, Johnny Williams and five sisters: Nedora Smith, Dora Lee Sanford, Alberta Williams, Velvelene McKeldin, and Catherine Williams. She moved to Daytona Bch in 1965 and was a member of Shiloh M.B. Church. She was also a member of the Volusia County Branch of the NAACP, Martha Court Number 16 Heroine of Jericho, and the Daughters of the Spinks.She retired from Halifax Medical Center after ten years. She is survived by a son, Anthony Jerome Thompson; four daughters: Altomease Thompson-Lucas (Louis), Granette Regina Thompson, Dr. Debra Thompson-Sawyer (George), Brenda Darnell Brown; daughter-in-law: Sheila Thompson; devoted grandson and caregiver: Johnathan Jose Richardson; 20 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
