Clyde Gilbert "Gill" Taylor went home to the Lord on July 6, 2013 with family and friends at his bedside after a valiant struggle with cancer. Born in New Hampshire in 1935, he was raised in Rye and Port Chester, NY. He served in the Air Force for 4 years then began a 36 years career with Sikorsky Aircraft as a helicopter crew chief. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth, son Richard Taylor (Qing) of MD, daughters Catherine Slubowski of CT and Adriane Brodeur (Tom) of CT, brothers Craig Pearce (Cheryl) of CT and Douglas Pearce of NY. Special survivors are his 5 grandchildren; granddaughter, Madeline Slubowski of CT, grandsons Cameron and Zachary Brodeur of CT, Derryk and Kyle Taylor of MD. He is also survived by his Aunt Esther Huot (NH) and several cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Clyde L. Taylor; mother Barbara W. Pearce and step-father Francis Pearce, a daughter Susan Deborah Taylor and his son-in-law, Edward Slubowski. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 10th at Glenwood Presbyterian Church, 3190 Grand Avenue at 11am, with the family receiving friends at 10:30am prior to the service.
