May 5, 1929 - April 13, 2013. Demona Ward Chaladoff, age 83, passed on Saturday, April 13, 2013 in Palm Coast, Florida. Mona was born in California and lived her childhood in the San Francisco Bay area. In 1948 she became one of the first fifty members of the Women's Air Force. Mona began her 36-year civil servant career for Alameda Naval Base and retired from Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, NJ as a Supervisory Management Analyst. In 1990 she moved to Florida. Mona was an active member in the Palm Coast Chapter of National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NAFE), U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Palm Coast Boat Club, Anchor Boat Club, Friends of the Library, and Red Hat Society. She will be remembered for her love of friends and flowers. She will be missed by all. She is survived by her husband, Bernie; two daughters, Lucinda Dale Bryant and Alicia Bryant Gordon; two grandchildren, Jamie Elizabeth Gordon and Austin Ward Taterka; plus step-children, Steven Chaladoff and his wife Eileen and their son Jason, David Chaladoff and his wife Kathy, Wayne Chaladoff and his wife Cindy and their daughters Nicole and Ashley; her brother Gilbert Ward and his wife Linda; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Lyna and Gilbert Ward. A memorial service is planned later in the year.
