Dennis W. Cross of Palm Coast passed away on January 27th after a long battle with esophageal cancer. He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on March 10, 1934, and lived almost 79 very exciting years. He went to Dodgeville High School in Wisconsin and played on all their state championship teams before proudly serving 4 years in the United States Air Force. After the Air Force, he attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison on the G.I. bill. Denny had a 30 year career at Western Electric and AT&T taking him from Illinois to Wisconsin to New York and then New Jersey. He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie Bradac Cross; his brother Bill Cross; and seven children: Terry Jakober, D. Robin Cross, Jaclyn Hueg and Jay Cross (all of Oklahoma), Sherry Wilson (of Wisconsin), Scott Cross and Eric Cross (both from California). He was the proud grandpa of ten: Andrew, Ashley, Ryan, Breanna, Carly, Christian, Nicole, Jamie, Evan and Samantha. He served his present community on the Grand Haven CDD Board for 5 years and the Flagler Beach Yacht Club as the "special vacuum man." He was also a member of the American Legion Flagler Post 115. Hobbies were boating, movies, golf, biking and most definitely basketball. Memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton on Saturday the 2nd at 11am. Internment at the church columbarium will follow. We wish to thank the Stuart Meyers Hospice staff, Dianne the cookie lady hostess at the Comprehensive Cancer Center, Dr. Mitch Weisberg and his two wonderful nurses Becky and Rhonda, the 8th floor Oncology nurses at Memorial Medical Center and Amy and Lewis Beilman for starting the SPOHNC support group in Palm Coast. The family of Mr. Cross entrusted the arrangements to Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations.
