Diane M. Kidd (nee Wood), of Palm Coast, FL was born on May 13, 1938 in Rochester, NY and passed away peacefully on October 30, 2013 in Ormond Beach, FL at the age of 75 years. She was the beloved wife, for over 56 years, of Charles L. Kidd Jr., CDR, U.S. Coast Guard, Retired. Diane earned grateful appreciation for her selfless, faithful and
devoted service during her husband's Coast Guard career. Her unfailing support and understanding helped to make possible her husband's lasting contribution to the nation for over 30 years. Diane was the mother of two daughters and a son. Diane enjoyed being a homemaker, mother and wife. She worked for Holiday Inn at Atlantic Beach, NC and BWI Airport for eight years before moving to Palm Coast in October, 1985. She enjoyed bowling with friends in Palm Coast and served as secretary of the Early Birds League for a few years. When she was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1997 her activities outside the home slowly began to taper off. She enjoyed vacations traveling in their motor home and caring for her many house/porch plants. She enjoyed many activities with her husband including the Wheels in Motion Antique Car Club, Thunderbird Club, Masonic Square Club and the Flagler County Shrine Club. Due to her illness, she spent the last four years in the Assisted Living Facility and Nursing Home in Ormond Beach, FL. Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Walter Frank Wood and Berenice Grace Wood nee Weston. She is survived by her husband, Charles L. Kidd, Jr. of Palm Coast, FL, son, Charles R. Kidd of Glen Burnie, MD, two daughters; Mrs. Cheryl Lavender of Jacksonville, FL and Mrs. Joyce Stevens of Glen Burnie, MD, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Parkinson's Foundation, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741. A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, 205 N.
