Earl C. Kepner, Jr., 79 years of age, of Ormond Beach, FL, died March 31, 2013. There will be no viewing. Memorial service will be Saturday April 6, 2013 at 1:00p.m. at Harbor Baptist Church, located at 425 Tomoka Ave., Ormond Beach, FL 32174. There will also be a memorial service held at a later date at Arlington E.C. Church, 585 Lombard St., Red Lion, PA 17356. Mr. Kepner loved his work, church and family. He also enjoyed reading, bicycle riding, listening to music and gardening with his wife Brenda. Mr. Kepner formerly of North York, was born July 28, 1933 in York, PA. He was the son of the late Carrie Viola Shindler Kepner and Earl C. Kepner, Sr. He was a graduate of North York high school, Indiana Technical College and Penn State University. He volunteered and served in the Army Security Agency in Germany. He was formerly employed by Bendix Corp. - York as an electronics engineer in the missile radar-fusing department. He then was employed by AMF - York in the design and production of the machines, which rapidly removed all silver coins from circulation at the advent of laminated "silver" coinage. For 27 years he was employed as a Biomedical Engineer at Wellspan Health and was Asst. Director, Engineering. Mr. Kepner formerly taught night school courses in basic electronics at Penn State, York. Mr. Kepner is survived by his wife, Brenda L. Berkebile Kepner; daughters, Carol A. VanHecke, Brenda J. Kepner and Step Daughter Mischelle L. Romesberg, a son William E. Kepner; grandchildren, Katherine A. Kepner, Emily L. Kepner, Ian M. Drummond, Alex Drummond and Isaiah B. Fairman; a sister Wilma J. Kepner Brenneman and brother, William A. Kepner. In lieu of other rememberance contributions may be made to Arlington E.C. Church, PA, Harbor Baptist Church, Ormond Beach, FL, or Halifax Humane Society at 2364 LPGA Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL 32124.
