Funeral services for Mr. Eddie Moore, 94, Daytona Beach, who passed on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, will be 12 PM at RJ Gainous Funeral Home, Inc. with Eld. John L. Edwards, Jr., Pastor, Pentecostal Apostolic Lighthouse, officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5-8:30 PM at RJ Gainous Funeral Home today (Fri, Aug. 23) and from 10:30 AM until service time at the Funeral Home on Saturday. Mr. Moore was born in Madison, AL on June 4, 1919 to the late Elie and Mattie Lee Moore. He was raised in Huntsville, AL where he attended public school. His parents instilled a belief in God at an early age and he accepted Christ when he became an adult. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters and his son: George Rone. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1946. Mr. Moore came to Daytona Bch in 1957. He was employed with F.W. Woolworth for more than 30 years. Cooking was not only his occupation, but he loved cooking at home as well. For recreation, he enjoyed fishing and playing cards until he discovered the sports of organized Greyhound Racing and Jai-Alai. Mr. Moore loved unconditionally. He shared whatever he had; his love, money and advice. He did have a humorous side that we all enjoyed and loved. He made friends with almost everyone. He is survived by a granddaughter: Wyneek M. Rone; a grandson: George R. Rone; great grandsons: Elijah E. Rone, Ge'Undre Rone; great granddaughters: Qua'Shawnna Rone, Ta'Shawanna Rone, Ge'Nila Faith Rone; extended family: Lillie Rollins (William), Mattie Allen, Derrick Teal (Evelyn), Darrell Jackson, Dr. Stephen Khalfani, Tirrell Moore (Lashkia), Joyalynn Jackson (Joe), Michelle Brownlee, Yakema Rollins, Jasmine Brownlee, Joe, Jr., Markia Brownlee, the Telfare family, a host of grand nieces, grand nephews and friends.
