- Funeral Services for Mr. Elbert Adams, 81, Daytona Beach, who passed on Friday, July 26, 2013, will be 11 AM, Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Jeffrey Robinson, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Daytona Memorial Park North. Calling hours are from 5 - 8:30 PM on today, (Fri., Aug. 2) at RJ Gainous Funeral Home and from 9:30 AM until service time at the church on Sat. On March 2, 1932, in Hatchechubbee, AL, Elbert Adams, Sr. & Minnie Lee Willis were blessed with a baby boy, whom they named, Elbert Adams, Jr. In 1945, Elbert Jr., relocated from Alabama to Orlando, FL and later to Daytona Bch, FL where he resided until he departed this life. He loved fishing, hunting and attending his church at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist. Elbert was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Adams, Sr. & Minnie Lee Willis; his brothers: Jack, James & Eddie Adams, and sisters: Elizabeth, Lucile & Lucy. He leaves to cherish his memory, 3 sons: Elbert "Ray" Adams, III (Teresa), Ormond Bch, FL; Larry Adams (Diane), Daytona Bch, FL; & Reginald Adams, Atlanta, GA; he also leaves his lovely daughter: Judy Yenwo, Daytona Bch, FL; his companion of 25 years, Barbara Williams, Daytona Bch, FL; 4 grandchildren: Michael Adams, Ft. Walton Beach, FL; Siera Adams, Conyers, Georgia, D'Marcus Hamption- Adams, Ormond Bch, FL and Larissa Adams, Daytona Bch, FL; 1 great grandchild: Tanyvia Adams, Ft. Walton Beach, FL; his brother: Ralph Adams (Josephine); and sister: Lena Kitt & the mother of his 4 children: Maggie Mae Adams. Elbert also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & friends who will miss him dearly. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.rjgainousfuneralhome.com.
