After a very brief illness, Elizabeth Ann Frisby Henderson Richards slipped peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord on May 15, 2012. She was born to Swan and Rose Lee Shelton Frisby on June 6, 1949 in Asheville, NC. She lived in North Carolina until she was 10 years old when her Mom and Dad relocated their family to Daytona Beach in 1959. As a young woman she moved back to North Carolina and that is where she raised her sons. She worked for Blue Ridge Homes in Asheville, NC for 24 years. BRH is an organization that cares for mentally challenged adults. She loved the friends and clients that she met there and they were a huge part of her life. She especially enjoyed planning the annual holiday parties for them. She and her sons spent many long hours cooking and preparing. She loved it. Liz worked her way up through the ranks to the payroll and HR department. She retired and moved to Florida 6 years ago. She loved her family, friends, gospel music, gardening, nature, bingo and the mountains of North Carolina. She is survived by her sons, Vernon Lee Henderson, Asheville, NC; Phillip Daniel Richards and Kevin Ronald Richards both of Hendersonville, NC; her mother, Rose Lee Frisby, Daytona Beach; her sisters, Rosella Frisby Welsh (Rick), Daytona Beach and Carolyn Rebecca Frisby, South Daytona; one brother, Daniel Blaine Frisby, Oak Hill; three grandchildren, Sean Daniel Richards and Zoe Richards both of Hendersonville, NC, Savannah Richards, Asheville, NC. She was predeceased by her father, Swan Frisby and her grandmother, Cordellia Frisby. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 pm at the Dale Woodward Funeral Home, 167 Ridgewood Ave., Holly Hill with Wiley Lowe officiating.
