Elrod George (Ed), age 88, of Holly Hill, Florida passed away peacefully on January 1st, 2013.
He was born on September 9th, 1924 in Charleston, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a forward artillery spotter in the 775th Field Artillery Battalion, where he received the Bronze Star for Valor under fire. After the war he worked in Michigan at Great Lakes Express; he was part of St. Albert's Church; and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He transferred to Ohio with Great Lakes as a terminal manager. He retired to Daytona Beach, Florida and was active in the Basilica of St. Paul Catholic Church. Edward is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years Nora Ethel (Coyne); loving Father of Philip E. (deceased) (Helen), Sharon D. Guglielmino (Joe, deceased), Linda O'Donnell (Jim), Valarie L. Klosowski (Ed), and Douglas E.; loving grandfather of 16; and great-grandfather of 16. Survived by his siblings, Lorraine, Bill, Ruvanna, and Forrest.
