Emma Gibson Obituary

Known as Mom, Nana, and Aunt Emma to those who loved her the most, Emma Gibson peacefully went to be with the Lord on September 2nd in the presence of her immediate family. She is reunited with her husband of 55 years, Roy Gibson, as well as her brothers Ross and Jimmy Woods, and sisters Evelyn Payne and Anna B. She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Sandee and Tony Weston, to hold down the fort in her absence as well as her two grandchildren, Rachel and Josh, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved to the moon. Emma was a natural at many things: gardening, running Roy Gibson Exterminating Inc. which she co-founded and co-owned since 1972, southern cooking, keeping up with the latest Gator sports and NASCAR races, daily crossword puzzles, and most of all, supporting her loved ones. At 93 years young, she led a full, independent life, even running errands around town just 10 days before passing. What a blessing! A private graveside service was held by close friend, Pastor Artie Rose, for the family at Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach on September 23, 2016. She will be extremely missed; however we do not despair in the shadow of her passing but instead rejoice in the promise of eternal life with the Father.
