Franklin W. Snyder, 88, of Palm Coast, died Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. Mr. Snyder was born September 22, 1929 in Reading, PA, a son of James and Anna Hullinger Snyder. He entered the United States Marine Corps serving in WWII and the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge, he worked in the insurance business. At the age of 40, he was the proud owner of the Rhode Insurance Agency which had three offices. He was a longtime member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Kutztown, and a former member and Past President of the Kutztown Rotary Club. He retired in 1989 and moved to Palm Coast. Mr. Snyder was very active in the community. He was a member of the Hammock Community Church, treasurer of the Cypress Knoll Men's Golf Club. Mr. Snyder enjoyed golfing, gardening, playing pool, dancing and singing karaoke at the former Shark House and Raymond's in Palm Coast. He is survived by his wife, the former Maryann Tamburo, whom he married August 21, 1999. Two daughters, Sharon (Tom) Smith of Kutztown, PA, and Dawn (Gregg) Geschwindt of Blandon, PA; one brother, William (Dolores) Snyder of Reading, PA; two step-sons, Tony (Hanna) Trentacosta of Daytona Beach, FL, and Brian (Jennifer) Trentacosta of Butler, NJ; six grandchildren: Chad (Shannon) Smith, Joel (Elaine) Smith, Jared Deisher, Jena Deisher, Jeremy (Jennifer) Snyder, Bradley (Rane) Snyder, and step grandson, Joey Trentacosta. Six great-grandchildren: Rylee and Holden Smith, Issac Deisher, Noah Mojica, Barrett and Elizabeth Snyder. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Trixie. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Snyder; a son, Frank Snyder; and a brother, Richard Snyder. Family and friends will be received Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 1-3 PM at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Hammock Community Church, 5299 N Oceanshore Blvd., Palm Coast, FL 32137. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Snyder's name to Hammock Community Church. 5299 N Oceanshore Blvd., Palm Coast, FL 32137.
