Garret Matthew Furman, 38, of Deltona, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 at his residence. Garret was born in Miami, FL to Stuart Furman and Miriam Furman on August 3, 1974. He was a devoted husband and father and a loyal friend to many. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy and among other things was an experienced and enthusiastic chef, a skilled network technician and an accomplished sales professional. Garret is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Sarah Furman; son, Ethan Furman; parents, Stuart (Donna) Furman and Miriam Furman; sister, Traci (Rob) Amyx; niece and nephews, Sammy, Reece, and Jordan Amyx; uncles, Ron (Cheryl) Fisher, Stephen (Gloria) Furman; and cousins, Kitt (Julie) Hancock, Stephen (Elizabeth) Hancock and children, Evan (Shoko) Hancock and children, Mary (Luke) Weidemiller, Tommy and Matthew Hancock; and the extended Hancock Family. A Celebration of Garret's life will be held 1-3pm, Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Victoria Gardens Club House, 1001 Garden Club Drive, DeLand, FL.
