Geneva Doughtry, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2012. She was born to the late Josh and Geneva Lovett in Clyo, GA on February 23, 1943. She married Sherman James Doughtry and later moved to Daytona Beach, FL. Geneva Doughtry worked in the hospitality field. She loved to go fishing and shopping. She loved her children and grandchildren and also loved the Lord and singing. Her favorite song was "In the Morning When I Rise." She was predeceased by three brothers, James, Isaiah and Joseph Lovett; and three sisters, Alberta Fitts, Bishop Susie Woods and Elise Singleton. Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Saveena Wilson (Johnnie), Jeanette Doughtry Butler, Charlotte Doughtry; three sons, Samuel Doughtry, Joseph Lee Doughtry and Robert Lee Doughtry; one sister, Thelma Gamble (James); brothers, Johnnie, Milton, Rodney and Edgar Lovett, Clyo, GA; sisters-in-law, Jesse Mae Lovett and Georgia Lovett, Daytona Beach, FL; seven grandchildren; nine great-grands; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends of the family. Viewing and visitation with the family will be today (Friday, June 29, 2012) from 5:30 until 8 pm at Herbert Thompson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Soul Refreshing Church, 900 George Engram Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL. Interment will follow at Sunset Park Cemetery. Herbert Thompson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
