Zimmek, Sr. Gerald Walace "Jerry", 78, of Daytona Beach Florida, went home to be with the Lord, July 6, 2018. Jerry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; he believed that the meaning of life was to make a difference in someone else's. His greatest love was to his family, he enjoyed spending time with them and attending his children's and grandchildren's events. Always lending a helping hand to anyone in need; throughout Jerry's lifetime he was involved with his church, community, Lions Club, Lads & Lassies and Dixie Squares Dance Clubs. He was very creative, enjoyed art, drawing, bowling, golfing, shooting pool and dancing. Jerry was a man of many skills: Brick Mason, owner of a Pepperidge Farm Bread Route, Draftsman, Master Tool & Die Maker at Cross Co., Chryslers, Brunswick Corp.; Pool builder/installer; Owner Operator of Jerry's Bikini Car Wash (Daytona Beach) and Cutting Z's Lawn Service. Jerry is survived by his beloved wife Gloria of 57 years; their children Melissa Crutchfield (Bill), Sherry Uzzle (Eddie), Shelly Hunter (Scott), Jerry Zimmek, Jr. (Stacy). Grandchildren, Crystal Zirkle, Jakob (Allison), Samantha and Mikayla Uzzle, Dakota Hunter, Christian and Carleigh Zimmek; great grandchildren Damon and Lexi Zirkle; Brother-in-law Bob Zglinski and Sister-in-law Charlotte Morris; many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly, and beloved friends and others who affectionately called him Pops, Pop-Pop, Papa Z, Mr. Z and Dad Zimmek. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Lillian Zimmek, and sisters Joanne "Junie" Zglinski and Betty Cryderman (Dave). A Celebration of Jerry's life will be held at CrossRoads, 1851 South Clyde Morris Blvd., Daytona Beach, Florida, 32119 on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to .
