Gertrude H. Mose, 85, of South Daytona, went to be with the Lord and her husband Vernon of sixty-one years on November 4, 2011. She was born in New York State on June 11, 1926 to Violet and Fred Hofert. She attended Keuka College, New York, and excelled in achieving her nursing degree. She enjoyed most of her life in South Daytona Beach working as a registered nurse specializing in infection control at Humana / Daytona General Hospital. Besides traveling the United States, they summered in Gasport, New York, where family and friends lived. Among her favorite pastimes, were going to the beach, reading, cooking, shoe shopping, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, James Edward (Cheryl), Thomas Alan (Kitty), and Patricia Sue (Mike) Deering. She was predeceased by her husband, Vernon in February 12, 2010. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Hayley, Melissa (Philip) Schlesinger, Amber (Gray) West, Erika (Casey) Wagner, Rachel, and Ryan Deering. Gertrude was loved by all, honest as the day is long, and the best wife, mother, and grandmother in the world.
