2012 at the Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia /Flagler Care Center in Orange City. She was born an only child in Trier, Germany on April 25, 1915 and came thru Ellis Island, New York in 1922. She raised her 5 children with husband William living in New York and Miami before coming to DeLand in 1973. She owned Hadi's Place Ladies Boutique in Downtown DeLand for 22 years closing only to enjoy her love of competitive Ball Room Dancing, winning several trophies and awards. Hadi always enjoyed her family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband William Katrek in 1981; son Arthur Katrek in 2006 and daughter Jeanne Katrek in 2012. Survivors include sons John Katrek and wife Margaret of White, GA and Ron Katrek of Eustis, FL; daughter Lynda Katrek and husband Edward "Skip" Bassett of DeBary; grandsons Paul Katrek , Brian Katrek and wife Crystal and granddaughter Tara Bryan and husband Tom and great-grandchildren Henry and Lucy Katrek. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 14th from 5-7pm at Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 15th at 1pm at the Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel with Bobby Shawen officiating. Interment will follow at DeLand Memorial Gardens.
