James H. Hallman, 78, of DeLand passed away on May 23, 2013 at Woodland Terrace in DeLand. He was born in Pierson on February 25, 1935 and was a lifelong resident of Volusia County. James served in the U.S. Airforce during the Korean Conflict and was a project engineer for the Department of Transportation, retiring after 30 years. He loved all sports, especially his beloved Boston Red Sox. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Florencia "Flora"; sons Tim Hallman and wife Beth of Knoxville, TN, and Patrick Hallman and wife Tanya of Phoenix, AZ; daughter Linda Rankin and husband Larry of DeLand; sister Carol Beeler of DeLand; grandchildren Travis Lewis, Walter Lewis and Michael Hallman and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 30th at 10am at the Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand, with a committal service at DeLand Memorial Gardens.
