Joan Breyersdorfer Knopf, 88 of DeLand, passed away on July 15, 2012 at a local care center. A native of Warwick, NY she moved to this area from New Jersey in 1986. Joan was a retired dental office receptionist and a member of The First United Methodist Church of DeLand, where she was active in the various ladies groups, she was also active in the Eastern Star, but she and her husband George were probably best known for their participation in the Starlight Promenaders of DeBary. She was preceded in death by her husband George A. Knopf in 2009. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, George F. Knopf of North Brunswick, NJ and David Knopf of Gainesville, FL; her sister Paula Stoepker of Colorado; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The family will celebrate her life with a service at 10:00 am at the First United Methodist Church of DeLand on Thursday, July 19 and they will receive friends from 9:00 am until service time. Interment will follow after the service at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
