Joan Deakyne Rife passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018. Joan was born on January 4, 1932, in Philadelphia, PA to Norman and Katherine Deakyne. She graduated from Lower Moreland High School in Philadelphia and began her career as mail clerk at Rahm-Haas. In 1955 Joan married Alan Rife. They moved to Debary, FL in 1970. Joan was an avid traveler visiting all 50 states and Canada. She enjoyed word searches, watching her soaps, and most of all her daily rides to the river. Joan is survived by Alan, her husband of 62 years, daughters Kathy (Donald) Anselmo, Kimberly and Beth Rife, brother Norman (Mildred) Deakyne, grandsons Justin (Christina) Anselmo, Christopher (Mariah) Anselmo, and great grandchildren Easton, Everly, Paisley, and Peyton Anselmo, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Baldauff Funeral Home in Orange City, FL starting at 10:00 on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. The service will begin at 11:00 with a graveside service immediately following at Oaklawn Park Cemetery in Lake Mary, FL.
