Funeral Services for Dr. Joe Lee Green, 38, Atlanta, GA, who passed March 17, 2013, will be 2 PM, Sat., April 6, 2013 at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Calling hours are from 5 – 8:30 PM, Fri. (today, April 5) at RJ Gainous Funeral Home and from 12:30 PM until service time at the church on Sat. Dr. Green was born in Ormond Bch to his parents: Josephine Pope and the late Joseph Johnson. He attended Bonner Elementary, Ormond Jr. High School and Seabreeze High School where he graduated in 1993 with honors. He went on to pursue his higher education at Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL for Fitness and Nutrition (1998). He later earned his Doctorate Degree at Cleveland College of Chiropractic, Los Angeles, CA (2006). He also was educated, trained, and affiliated with the following: Adult, Child, Infant CPR (2012), AAAI Certified Personal Trainer, Atlanta, GA (2010), Mentoring and Educating Minority Students in Food/Nutrition/Wellness, Florida State University (1998), Mary McLeod Bethune Youth, Just Say No To Drugs, UP Bound Program, Men of Tomorrow, Torch Carrier of the Olympics (1996). Dr. Green owned several businesses: Life Spektrum Wellness Center and Body by Joe. Dr. Green was also preceded in death by a sister: Joann Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother: Josephine Pope, Daytona Bch; brothers: Kenneth Green and Pernell Allen, both of Daytona Bch, Jermane Green, St. Augustine, FL; Joseph Chaney, Ft. Pierce, FL; 4 sisters: Kimberly Green, Daytona Bch, Renee Johnson, Atlanta, GA, Denita Johnson, Ft. Pierce, FL, Daphine Anderson; maternal grandmother: Allie Lewis, Daytona Bch; paternal grandmother: Wilhelmina Hawkins, Vero Bch, FL; a special companion: Damaris Chevalier; a host of aunts, uncles including devoted uncle: Chris Foster, nieces, nephews including devoted nephew: A'shundre Christian; cousins and friends.
