Joseph T. Keelen, 78, of Daytona Beach, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 6, 2018 surrounded by his family. Born in New York in 1940, Joseph ran a successful small engine repair shop in Wallkill for many years until he moved his family to Deland. He later moved to Daytona Beach after the passing of his beloved wife Amelia in 1999. He was a member of the Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Port Orange. An only child, Joseph always wanted a large family. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Post Keelen; two sons, Joseph Jr. (Denise), New Smyrna Beach, and Eric, DeLand; three daughters, Stephanie Henry (Jeffery), Orange City, Amy White (Brook), DeLand, and Beth LaBonte (Rhett), Orange City; and eleven grandchildren: Richard (Katie), Tiphanie, Emily, Madalyn, Ciara, Shea, Ian, Joseph III, Mason, Asher, and Amelia. He was predeceased by a son, Thomas Joseph. A memorial mass will be at Saint Peter Catholic Church, DeLand, on May 19, Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Donations may be made to Saint Peter Catholic School, 421 W New York Ave, Deland, FL 32720.
