Margaret Finney Simpson, age 86, died June 20, 2013. She was a native of Daytona Beach and graduated from Mainland High School in 1945, where she sang in the glee club and played in the band. She attended Stetson University where she majored in music. She was a member of the Magnolia Garden Club, a charter member of Palmettes of the Palmetto Club in Daytona Beach, and a life member of the Florida General Federation of Women's Club and Florida Hospital Auxiliary. She was a former member of Oceanside Country Club and Halifax River Yacht Club. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, where she served for many years on the Altar Guild. Her hobbies included bridge and gardening. She was predeceased by her husband, attorney Thomas C. Simpson. Survivors include a brother, David B. Finney; and three nieces, Ann Finney, Eva Finney, and Teresa Jensen. The family will receive friends, Monday, June 24th from 4:30 until 6:30 pm at Haigh-Black Funeral Home, 167 Vining Court, Ormond Beach. Funeral services will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 44 S. Halifax Dr., Ormond Beach, Tuesday, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Ormond Beach.
